Marjorie Spiegel is Executive Director of The Institute for the Development of Earth Awareness (IDEA), author of The Dreaded Comparison: Human and Animal Slavery, photojournalist, and winner of a 2005 Fellowship in Nonfiction Literature from the New York Foundation for the Arts. As an expert on industrial-scale animal agriculture, she is now completing a new book on animal agribusiness entitled THEM, which will be the first in-depth photo documentary of slaughterhouses ever produced.
