“Humanitarian Action Today”
Joelle Tanguy is the former U.S Director of Doctors Without Borders as well as a former visiting Professor at Bard where she taught humanitarian affairs. In the 1990’s, Ms. Tanguy led humanitarian relief operations – mostly for Médecins Sans Frontières – in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Armenia, Bosnia and Somalia, often at the height of political and military turmoil. After Doctors Without Borders/MSF, she joined the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development (TB Alliance) as its founding Director of Advocacy and Public Affairs.
