Amy Kapczynski & David Gelber

 

“Death by Denial”

 

Amy Kapczynski is an Associate Professor of Law at Yale Law School and director of the Global Health Justice Partnership. She joined the Yale Law faculty in January 2012. Her areas of research including information policy, intellectual property law, international law, and global health. Prior to coming to Yale, she taught at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. She also served as a law clerk to Justices Sandra Day O’Connor and Stephen G. Breyer at the U.S. Supreme Court, and to Judge Guido Calabresi on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

 

David Gelber is Executive Producer of the Ed Bradley unit, which produces several 60 Minutes stories a year and one documentary a year for 60 Minutes II. Each documentary he has produced has received a major national journalism award. His most recent documentary, The Church on Trial, an investigation of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, received an Emmy award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Gelber began his journalistic career as a writer for the Village Voice. In 1993, Gelber left 60 Minutes to become the Executive Producer of Peter Jennings Reporting at ABC News. He spent the winters of 1993-4 and 1994-5 in Sarajevo producing two documentaries on the war in Bosnia, which won Emmy Awards and a DuPont Award. He returned to CBS in 1996 to become Executive Producer of the Bradley unit.
