Syria Teach-In

In light of the lack of information and resources on Syria during a time when the American public continues to debate on potential US intervention, this event is designed to provide an informational briefing on Syria: its colonial history, the tumultuous period under Hafez al-Assad’s three decade rule, the long-standing relationship with its key ally Russia, and current events. This teach-in will be an informal discussion drawing from the Bard community, and will be a starting off point for future events on the topic. Join us this Friday for a day of informal presentations and discussions beginning at 11AM and wrapping up at 5PM.Speakers, venues and schedule are still be finalized, so please check back with the Facebook event page for the latest information: https://www.facebook.com/events/180290748822839/?notif_t=plan_edited

Organized by Hannah Kalifeh, in collaboration with the Human Rights Project and the Center for Civic Engagement.
