Journalist and two-time recipient of the George Polk Award, Juan Gonzalez will visit Bard to deliver a talk on his book The Harvest of Empire. Gonzalez’s work The Harvest of Empire focuses on the US military and economic presence in Latin-American countries such as Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Gonzalez’s extensive work in immigration issues and in the field of investigative journalism has led to his being awarded the 2010 Justice in Action Award from the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund. Gonzalez is co-host, with Amy Goodman, of Democracy Now! and a columnist with NY Daily News.
