Bill McKibben is a former staff writer for the New Yorker magazine and now writes regularly for the NY Times and New York Review of Books, among other publications.  He is perhaps best known for his 1989 book, The End of Nature, which is now considered prophetic in light of the current state of knowledge about mankind’s impact on the environment, most dramatically the phenomenon of global warming.  He is also the author of Enough: Staying Human in an Engineered Age.
